Multisite FAQ
If you are reading this, you’ve likely received an email saying you need to add all the sites you are using Attributer on to your account, and you likely have some questions.
Below, we’ll attempt to answer them, but of course, you can reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any others.
1. Why do I need to add sites now?
When we built the first version of Attributer, we didn’t actually build any sort of licencing system. Our focus was getting the product out there and seeing if people actually used it (no point building a licensing system for a product nobody is using).
This lack of licensing system ultimately meant that you could put the Attributer code on any website, and it would work.
But now that we’re a few years into the journey and know that people do actually use and love the product, it’s time we implemented a proper licencing system to ensure that only those that pay for the product can use it.
2. How do I add sites?
Now that we’ve launched the new user interface for those on our multisite plans, it’s super easy to manage the sites on your account.
When you login you should be taken to the ‘Sites’ page where you can see a list of all sites in your account.
Once on the Sites page, select the ‘Add Site’ button in the top right corner.
This will take you to the Add Site page where you can enter the details of the new site you wish to add to your Attributer account.
Once you’ve finished entering the details, press ‘Create Site’ button and your new site will be added to your account and you will see a confirmation message.
3. Do I need to change the code that is installed on my sites?
No, you don’t need to do anything to the code that is installed on your sites. That will continue to work as usual.
All you are doing here is telling us the domains on which you want to use Attributer so that when our new licencing system is launched, the Attributer code won’t be blocked from loading on your sites.
4. When do I need to do this by?
We will be launching our new licensing system on June 21st 2024, so ideally before then.
5. When will sites be blocked and how will that work?
We want to ensure that the rollout of our new licensing system has minimal impact on our customers.
Therefore, we will be manually reviewing any sites that our system detects as not having a license BEFORE the Attributer code is blocked from loading on those sites.
Given the time this manual review process takes, we expect sites without a license to be progressively blocked over the next few weeks.
6. I have another question. How can I contact you?
